Candela, Coahuila - Mexico
Paths for Strolling

If you had to describe the image of Coahuila with one word, it would surely be the following: multifaceted.

In 1690 this municipality was the mission of San Bernardino de la Candela. Then, in 1774, it became San Carlos de Candela. In 1890, it took the name of Romero Rubio before finally settling on its current name. In the same way that its history has been multifaceted, so is the face that it shows to its visitor.

Dedicated to the cultivation of beans, corn, sorghum, and nuts, Candela offers unique places like the Grutas de Candela with its caves, large spaces, and underground rivers with aquatic species; the thermal springs of Los Carricitos with its pools, La Mesa de Catujanos hill with its singular plateau, and its old train station. We could continue with the list, but decided that it should be you who completes it when you make the decision to say: Let's go to Candela!
