Sierra Mojada, Coahuila - Mexico
A Goldmine of Surprises

Upon finding Sierra Mojada on a map, 195 Km. (121 miles) from Torreon on the Chihuahua state line, you many envision a town with little to offer. However, nothing is further from the truth. Just as Nestor Arreola discovered rich silver deposits here in 1979, which led to the founding of this town in the same year, this area holds many surprises waiting to be discovered.

Its urban image, characterized by the cleanliness and simple layout of its streets, will surprise you. As well, it will be difficult to resist hiking into the Sierra Madre for mountain climbing or rappelling, or surely, you will be tempted to visit one of the ironor silver mines.

Before leaving, don't forget register your visit in the Cueva de los Nombres and pay your respects to the writer Ambrose Biertce.
