Museums

Museum Coahuila y Texas
This building was built at the end of the 18th century to serve as a hospital, but evening was used as a prison, after the ambush at Bajan Acatita, 21 March 1811 here were imprisoned over 1300 insurgents, including Don Miguel Hidalgo. From 1993 year becomes Museum Coahuila and Texas, has a public library, with various rooms for exhibitions and a central courtyard for shows, conferences, workshops, civic events, etc.

Museum el Polvorín
Building built by the Spaniards in 1781 with functions of Fort and powder keg. In 1977 launches a new cycle as a Museum of arms and historical aspects. Its collection includes original objects, documents and pictures relating to the historical heritage of Monclova.

Museum - Pape
Since its opening in 1977 has become a true symbol of Monclova and gave him international renown. Rooms have shelter exhibitions of artists from Mexico and the world. Sponsored by the Foundation Pape, honor the memory of marriage forming by engineer Harold r. Pape and Suzanne Roberts, who lived in Monclova and devoted their lives to the industrial and social development of the city. This space has five rooms for exhibitions and also has an auditorium for 300 people which presents plays and musical concerts. On one side is the Harold r. Pape library whose concept contemporary and playful children and young people offer its bibliographic collection of more than 110 thousand volumes. Churches

Santiago Apostol
The origins of this impressive architecture construction refer to the second half of the 18th century.
The parish is a center that brings together Monclova faithful and displays a sample of carved quarry. The Bell Tower, convulsas times, witness raises three floors.

San Francisco de Asis
Austere façade, three simple bells and an auction cross, this parish was erected in stone in 1700 under the direction of fray Juan Larios. Inside is a beautiful baroque with 24 carat was brought from the city of Saltillo gold leaf.

Ermita de Zapopan

Cuatro Cienegas

Municipal Presidency
Construction of a single plant was opened in 1910.
Its facade is neo-classical style with three arches of access.
During the revolutionary riots suffered extensive damage. As President, don Venustiano Carranza target funds for the reconstruction and the Presidency resumed functions in 1920.

Statue of Venustiano Carranza
Located at the entrance of Cuatro Cienegas by this part, offers a wide view from the top of the Cuatro Cienegas Valley and the city.
Location: Highway 30 to 2 km east of the village at the foot of the Hill of the dead.

San José Church
Quarry which looks like a toasted building. Its foundation dates back to 1825. The bells that still spread their sound around the city are the same donate gift Venustiano Carranza in the crucial year of 1917.

House of culture
In this House formerly lived the family of don Venustiano Carranza. Currently in its different rooms exhibits coercion of archaeological pieces and fossils found in the area. This space also mounted painting exhibitions and cultural activities. It is the seat of the municipal archives.
